The Code of Practice on Ethical Employment

In 2017, the Welsh Government published its Code of Practice on Ethical Employment in Supply Chains ( We are one of only 74 (out of 50,255) private sector organisations to have signed up to the code so far.

The new minimum pay rate for supply teachers

Equal is recommended by the new Welsh Government & NPS framework agreement for supply staffing in Wales across all 22 local authorities.

We are committed to paying the new increased minimum pay rate of £121.64 per day (PAYE paid weekly) for supply teachers from September 2019.

We are aware that a high number of framework providers are unwilling to commit to the new minimum pay rates. We are liaising closely with the NPS, Welsh Government, local authorities and schools to promote this to ensure it’s effective and fully implemented.
